OTTAWA - Auditor General Sheila Fraser is set to deliver her verdict on the Conservative government's much trumpeted Economic Action Plan today.
She will look at how billions of dollars in stimulus spending has unfolded, an assessment that appears to have the Harper government already on the defensive.
Transport Minister Chuck Strahl, who is responsible for infrastructure, will hold a news conference almost immediately after the report is tabled in Parliament to respond to the findings.
On other matters, the federal government will take a day or two to study and answer the auditor's criticisms.
Fraser will also issue reports on regulating and supervising big banks as well as the military purchase of transport helicopters.
